The men, aged 30 and 31, were taken to Napier police station where they were charged with possession for supplying methamphetamine and possession of drug utensils.
Auckland police said the bust has led to numerous leads and more arrests were highly likely as a larger investigation was now underway.
Detective Inspector Ross McKay said the find was a massive win for the communities the drugs were destined for.
"We believe that the supply ring was carrying out its illicit activity between the central and upper North Island, and the methamphetamine was destined for the Hawkes Bay and Tararua areas," he said.
"The supply and dealing of illicit drugs knows no boundaries and this seizure is a major success for these communities."
The 30 year old man appeared in Napier District Court and was remanded in custody. He was due to reappear in Dannevirke District Court on August 21.
Police are continuing to question the 31 year old man. He was remanded on bail and will appear in Napier District Court later this week.
A police spokeswoman said the bust was largest in both the Hawkes Bay and Tararua areas in recent years.

The Chrysler Neon is a car that offers an unusual proposition. Because it doesn’t fit into the pat pigeonholes into which we slot most of our cars, many buyers have been confused as to exactly what they’re getting. On the one hand, the car was initially marketed as an economy car, but the 1999 restyle saw it gain some more upmarket aspirations. What is a Neon and, more importantly, does it cut the mustard as a used proposition?Although it still fails to offer the sophistication of cars like the Ford Focus, the Neon does offer a lot of metal for the money and a degree of exclusivity. Where these cars continually remind you of the money you’ve saved, the Neon feels a class above. Whilst not at the forefront of engine technology, this powerplant nevertheless offers a willing level of performance for the money. It’s able to hit 60mph in 9.4 seconds and run on to a top speed of 132mph, so you won’t be able to accuse the Neon R/T of being a sheep in wolf’s clothing.Even the standard 2.0 litre versions are faster than most comparably priced rivals. Rest to sixty takes 10.8s on the way to 124mph. Still, at least you don’t have to pay for the bigger capacity at the pumps: in normal driving, around 35mpg should be possible, rising to 45mpg on the open road.Those figures shouldn’t be too dramatically affected if, like most customers, you take the no cost automatic transmission option, though bear in mind that the gearbox has three, rather than the usual four speeds available from rivals (who all charge extra for the privilege).Braking is much improved over the old model, though curiously, the system you get depends on the trim level you choose. Quick, good looking and well equipped it’s a break from the norm. No, it isn’t the last word in sophisticated engineering but for most buyers driving something that offers a little exclusivity will more than make up for that.

The largest statues in the world, however, are all images of Buddha, an Asian dominated list that includes the 128 meter high Spring Temple Buddha of Lushan China (built in 2002); the 116 meter Laykyun Setkyar of Monywa, Myanmar (2008); and the 110 meter Ushiku Daibutsu of Ushiku, Japan (1995).
1. Great Buddha of Thailand, Ang Thong
The highest statue in the Kingdom (and ninth in the world) is located in the Wat Muang monastery in Ang Thong province, approximately 140 kilometers north of Bangkok.
Known in Thai as Phra Buddha Maha Nawamin, it stands 92 meters high and 63 meters wide, and took 18 years to build, opening to the public in 2008.
Made of cement, the exterior is painted gold. As well as the Great Buddha, the temple is also home to "Hell Park," a macabre group of statues that graphically depict the terrible fate that awaits sinners.
The story goes that one day a group of friends were hiking through the hills of Phuket, when they came across a spot with stunning 360 degree views of the island.
Deciding that it would make the perfect site for a statue of Buddha, over a 10 year period they overcame government red tape, a shortage of funds and topographical difficulties, to build this 45 meter high marble clad statue, some 400 meters above sea level.
Officially called the Phra Puttamingmongkol Akenakkiri Buddha, it’s already become one of Phuket’s top attractions, though the giant base is still under construction. Begun in 1867 and taking 60 years to build, it is covered in glass and gold mosaics, and contains relics of Buddha, supposedly brought to Thailand from Sri Lanka.
Facing east, this popular tourist attraction carries a traditional alms bowl.
Built over 10 years by businessman Lek Viriyahbhun, the bronze statue sits atop a three story museum housing his priceless collection of Thai antiques and art.
Because of the influence of Hindusim on Thai Buddhism, the statue has become a place of worship for Thais, who seek out Erawan’s blessings.
The statue is surrounded by hundreds of smaller Buddha statues, which represent the many donations to the temple (if you donate enough, you too can have your place on the wall).
With significant Sino influenced architecture, Wat Phanan Choeng is especially popular with the area’s long established Thai Chinese community (who call it Sam PoKong).

Semir appare per la prima volta nell’episodio Il nuovo compagno al fianco di Frank Stolte, dopo che la morte di Ingo Fischer ha reso necessaria l’assunzione di un nuovo collega. Cerca sempre di essere il pi calmo, sereno, tranquillo e positivo possibile, anche nelle situazioni peggiori a cui il suo lavoro lo mette di fronte. Egli inoltre ha un carattere molto apprezzato dagli altri personaggi della serie: sempre positivo e non perde mai la calma. Spesso infatti lui a calmare i suoi colleghi pi scalmanati, come ad esempio Andr Fux. Con il suo partner riesce pressoch sempre ad essere al posto giusto al momento giusto. In Sotto pressione, I ricercati e Die Kmpferin viene provvisoriamente nominato capo del distretto: nel primo caso Anna non era presente, e nel secondo Kim era in vacanza. Semir anche molto versatile: nell’episodio Atterraggio d’emergenza riesce, seppur con un aiuto, a far atterrare un Socata TB10 Tobago; in Il talento di Semir si mette ai comandi di un Cessna 172 e in Il cartello pilota un AutoGyro MT 03. Inoltre sa cavalcare (episodi Rapina all’ufficio postale, Giustizia sommaria, Testimone a Berlino e Il boss) e scalare (episodi Pandora e Resurrezione). In ogni caso, non sempre immune dagli incidenti: in svariate occasioni viene ferito nei combattimenti corpo a corpo o colpito di striscio da alcuni proiettili. Negli episodi Sabotaggio e Ricordi di giovent entra addirittura in coma, entrambe le volte senza nessuna conseguenza. Semir inoltre molto sensibile: lo si capisce, ad esempio, vista la lunga riflessione sul ponte Hohenzollern di Colonia dopo la morte di Tom, che pu essere interpretata come un remoto tentativo di suicidio. Un altro tentativo di suicidio ben pi evidente in Unit di crisi, quando il poliziotto perde molte speranze di rivedere vive sua moglie e sua figlia in seguito ad un rapimento. Quando ci meditava su, si trovava nella Rheinturm, torre della televisione di Dusseldorf: sarebbe stato facilissimo lasciarsi cadere, trovandosi, tra l’altro, molto in alto. Semir per ha desistito ed ha subito tentato di rintracciare le sue familiari, riuscendo nell’intento. In Testimone a Berlino, invece, Semir deve assicurare giustizia a Sander Kalvus, un boss della droga olandese nonch assassino di Chris: anche in questo caso egli affronta la situazione con molta determinazione. Poco contenta del suo lavoro dopo l’arrivo delle figlie Andrea, che vede nel suo lavoro qualcosa di molto pericoloso. Nell’episodio Angeli della morte chiede infatti il trasferimento ad un incarico impiegatizio, sotto le insistenti richieste della moglie. Semir per non si trova a suo agio, e dopo averne parlato con Andrea ritorna al suo lavoro di sempre. In altre occasioni il poliziotto ha pensato di ritirarsi dalla polizia, come ad esempio dopo essere stato tradito dal suo vecchio collega Andr nell’episodio Resurrezione. In quel caso Ben lo convinse a desistere. InOltre la leggevediamo un Semir terribilmente violento e incosciente in seguito al rapimento di Danada parte di un gruppo di trafficanti di prostitute. L’agente non conosce pi limiti e arriva ad azioni eccessivamente illecite e violente. Tenta perfino di soffocare un uomo, che, per fortuna, non muore solo grazie all’arrivo in soccorso di due agenti della sicurezza. A fine puntata, dopo aver ritrovato la figlia, Semir sta addirittura per sparare all’uomo che l’aveva "comprata". Alla fine dopo che arrivato Alex, che cerca di farlo ragionare, fortunatamente, prevale il buonsenso del poliziotto.Rapporto con i colleghiCon quasi tutti i colleghi instaura da subito un buonissimo rapporto.Con Frank Stolte instaura un rapporto essenzialmente lavorativo, che comunque abbastanza buono. Un Semir alle prime armi lo porta in un’occasione a fare rapporto sul collega per la sua spericolatezza alla guida.Andr Fux ben presto diventa il primo vero grande amico di Semir. I due sono fin da subito andati d’accordo, ed il loro rapporto molto intenso, tant’ che quando egli apparentemente muore a Maiorca (ep. La vita appesa ad un filo), Semir passa un periodo di profonda crisi. Nell’episodio Resurrezione, quando il partner di Semir Ben, Fux riappare. Dopo aver tirato fuori dai guai un incredulo Semir, voleva servirsi di lui per vendicarsi della morte di sua moglie e di sua figlia per mano di alcuni malviventi. Dopo che Andr ha provato ad ucciderlo, Semir si trova ad inseguirlo. In seguito ad un incidente, Andr si lascia cadere nel vuoto permettendogli di salvarsi.Tom Kranich e Ben Jger sono i colleghi che pi hanno stretto con il proprio collega, essendo anche gli unici che sono stati al suo fianco a lungo (Tom 83 episodi, Ben 81). Con essi Semir supera abbondantemente il rapporto di lavoro. Non sono ovviamente mancati momenti di tensione con entrambi, ma tutti i problemi si sono velocemente risolti.Nonostante Jan Richter sia un po’ pi inesperto dei precedenti colleghi, riesce a conquistare la fiducia e l’amicizia di Semir sin da subito.Con Chris Ritter Semir inizialmente non riesce a trovare la quadra a causa del carattere scontroso e autonomo del suo collega. Col tempo i due comunque impareranno a conoscersi. In pi occasioni viene tirato in ballo il suo paese d’origine: nell’episodio Sognando Maiorca, ad esempio, si rivolge ad un manovale che non gli da retta dicendogli "Oooh! Ma parlo turco per caso?". Nella versione originale tedesca, Semir invece si rivolge all’uomo proprio in lingua turca. In Un incubo per Semir un suo vecchio amico che egli aveva arrestato, tenta di ucciderlo. Nell’episodio Addio giovinezza viene narrata un pezzo di storia della sua infanzia vissuta nel quartiere turco di Colonia: era un ladruncolo di auto che faceva corse clandestine. Quando fu coinvolto anche in un omicidio per, testimoni contro un suo amico, il vero esecutore del gesto; per questo motivo Semir viene chiamato "kalle", ossia traditore. Anche in Un regalo sbagliato si scopre un altro episodio della sua giovinezza: un amico della sua compagnia aveva rubato una macchina e causato un incidente in cui sono morti i genitori e la sorella di un ragazzo; Semir aveva testimoniato contro i sui compagni e questi ultimi da quel momento l’avevano considerato un traditore. In Lampada magica invece si parla del rapporto che Semir ha avuto con suo padre e suo fratello Kamal, che ha un negozio di ferramenta: il padre non gli aveva perdonato di essere entrato in polizia, ma sul letto di morte, si voleva scusare: Semir per, a causa del lavoro, non era riuscito ad arrivare in tempo. Tra i due nasce del tenero, che potrebbe addirittura evolversi in una cosa pi seria, se non fosse per lo stesso Semir, che dopo un primo bacio dice di non sentirsela di imbarcarsi in una tale impresa. Un’inversione di tendenza si ha nella stagione 36: grazie anche ad Alexander Brandt, i due ricominciano a frequentarsi. Nell’episodio L’ultima notte Semir e Andrea si ritrovano per una cena di riconciliazione. I turbolenti eventi dell’episodio li fanno riscoprire profondamente innamorati l’uno dell’altro: Andrea rischier anche di morire poich gravemente ferita da un colpo d’arma da fuoco sparato da un malvivente, ma non appena si risveglia conferma di voler stare con Semir.Il vecchio distintivo di Semir nato ad Istanbul il 2 febbraio 1964, come emerge nell’episodio Un’arma da fantascienza. Tuttavia nell’episodio La formula, nel quale vi si reca, dice di non esserci mai stato prima di quell’occasione. Nell’episodio Ricordi di giovent invece viene detto che ha 45 anni, anche se l’episodio andato in onda nel marzo 2013, quindi Semir avrebbe dovuto avere 49 anni.Prima del matrimonio con Andrea, abitava a Leverkusen al 45b di Hauptstrasse (via fittizio). Successivamente si trasferisce a Colonia in Kantstrae (anche questa via fittizia); dall’episodio La ragazza alla pari la casa di Semir e sua moglie cambia nuovamente e rimarr la stessa fino alla separazione. Nell’episodio Rivoluzione firma le carte per la vendita di quest’ultima casa e va a vivere da Dieter.Nelle primissime stagioni Semir nomina molto spesso la madre, sebbene non sia mai apparsa in nessun episodio; non si presentata neanche al suo matrimonio avvenuto nell’episodio Un felice risveglio. Dee 2 years agoYou make an excellent point. In fact, in the original Preppy Handbook, published in (I think, don’t quote me) 1980, tells men that (Levi’s?) jeans are the preferred bottoms for skiing. Indeed, there is nothing more classic on a modern preppy woman than a pair of broken in (worn, maybe small holes or "rubs," not destroyed!) dark, or lighter colored 100 percent cotton Levi’s 501’s, rolled at the cuffs with a pair of pumps, loafers, or Keds (or similar canvas style) to highlight the ankles and the shoes, topped off with a striped or plain white T shirt or white button down shirt (collar popped or folded) and a fitted blazer in wool, linen, or fine cotton. Preppy is a style, not a precise demarcation of clothing types. In other words, it’s the style and fit of the jeans that matters.

Steps in opening your car using these materials:

Slightly pry the door so that you can budge the second wedge in. This will create a gap between the door and the body.
Once you have the opening, straighten your coat hanger and slip it in. The point in doing this is for you to reach the "unlock button" inside your car. This is usually placed underneath the window. The importance of the rubber bond on the tip of the hanger is to have a grip on the lock button.
Now after you have placed your coat hanger on the lock button, you’ll just need to press it and the door will be unlocked.

There’s more to baseball than ‘peanuts and Cracker Jacks’, as the song suggests. Baseball has many rules to ensure fair play. And while you may understand the basics that require you to hit the ball and run, it’s good to understand all of the rules of baseball. You’ll be a better player and a better fan, if you know how the game of baseball is really played.
Know how a baseball field is set up. A baseball playing field is in the shape of a diamond, with a big area that extends beyond it (called the ‘outfield’.) The tip of the diamond is called home plate or home base. This is where players stand when they’re trying to hit the baseball. It’s also the base players must touch in order to score a run. Everything within the shape of the diamond and the outfield is called ‘fair ground’. Everything outside of this shape is called ‘out of bounds’. First base extends in a straight line directly from home base, and second and third base continue the diamond shape. Each base is the same length apart (although this distance varies depending on the age and skill of the baseball players.)
Know the positions on each team. Baseball is a game played between two teams of at least 9 players on each team. Each player has a different job on the baseball team, depending on his or her position. The pitcher throws or pitches the ball toward the person on the opposite team, who is waiting to hit the ball with the bat. The catcher stands behind the batter from the other team and catches the ball if it isn’t hit, and he also stands guard at home base to catch any incoming baseballs. There are players on first, second and third base who must guard the base and try to get the ball to their base before a player from the opposite team gets there. And there is also a shortstop, who stands between second and third base, and assists all of the infield players. There are three outfield players (left, center and right field), who need to catch the baseball and throw it infield to any player on their own team as soon as possible. All of these positions are defensive positions. When a team is on the field playing defense, they cannot score runs. Rather, they must try to stop the other team from scoring runs. (Only the defensive team needs to use baseball gloves.)
Learn about pitching. The job of a pitcher is to throw a ball that the other team’s player will want to swing at. The pitcher can throw a ‘ball’, which means that the baseball wasn’t over the plate and between the player’s neck and knees, and so the batter didn’t swing at it. Or, the pitcher can throw a ‘strike’, which means the ball was over the plate and within the batter’s neck and knees, and he missed it or the batter hit the ball out of bounds. Each time a batter is up to bat, he can be thrown up to 4 balls (after which he will be given a free walk to first base) or 3 strikes (after which he will be out and have to return to his team bench). The batter can’t get ‘out’ if he hits a foul ball on his third strike. (A foul ball is one that goes outside of the baseball diamond shape). At any time while the pitcher is pitching, the batter must try to hit the baseball into the field before he gets 3 strikes or 4 balls.
Learn how a team can stop another team from scoring. In the game of baseball, the rules state that once a team has 3 ‘outs’, they must switch to defense and play the field, while the other team takes their turns trying to hit the baseball. A team that is up to bat will send one player at a time to stand at home plate with a baseball bat and swing at the balls that the pitcher throws. If the batter hits the ball, he must try to get safely to a base without getting out. He can get out in a number of ways. If he hits the ball and a member of the other team catches it before it hits the ground, he is out and must return to his team’s bench. If he swings the bat three times but never makes contact with the ball (called a ‘strike’), he’s out. And if the other team manages to get the ball to the base before the runner can get there after hitting it, the player is also out. After a team has three outs, it is the other team’s turn to be up at bat and try to score runs.
Understand how a team runs around the baseball diamond. Once a player hits the baseball, he will run to first base. Baseball rules require that only one offensive player can be on a base at a time. So if a player is running to first base, any offensive player that was previously on that base needs to run to second base, and so on. Depending on how far a ball is hit, players may have the chance to run more than one base during a single baseball hit. This is fine, and ideal. Players aim to hit a ‘home run’, which means that he is able to run from first base to second, third, and then home base before the baseball is thrown to the base he was on, and before any other player comes up to bat. A player can also score a home run if he hits the ball out of the park. It must travel over fair ground and go beyond the limits of the baseball field to be considered a home run. If the bases were loaded at this time (with a player on each base when the home run was hit), this is called a ‘grand slam’.
Understand how innings work. Baseball rules require that each team be given 9 chances at bat, and 9 chances to play defense (or the field). Each segment is called an ‘inning’. When the game is started, it is considered to be ‘the top of the first’ inning, since each inning has two segments (because each team gets a chance at bat during each inning.) When the team up to bat switches with the defensive team, it’s now considered ‘the bottom of the first’. When that team goes back to the field, a new inning starts. This continues until the bottom of the ninth inning. When that is over, the baseball game is complete. Scores are tallied, and a winner is decided.

When the battery on your Polar heart rate monitor begins to weaken, your wrist display will show you some indicators. The lit low battery indicator activates when 10 to 15 percent of the battery function remains. When this occurs, your watch automatically turns off the backlight and sound functions. If you see the indicator in cold weather, but then it disappears when you return to room temperature, your battery does not need replacing. The model of the Polar monitor will affect how you change the battery. Look at the back of the watch. If you see a silver covering held on by little screws, you need a small, Philips screwdriver. The newer Polar monitors and chest straps have plastic coverings over their batteries. The coverings have a small slot that fits the side of a coin. Insert the coin and twist the covering to the "open" position. Use a plastic or wood, flat head tool or popsicle stick that fits underneath the battery. Press up and pop out the battery. Replace the battery on the wrist monitor and face the positive side out. Replace the chest strap battery by putting the battery into the plastic cover with the positive side facing the cover. Also, replace the sealing ring on the chest strap if you have a new one. You can purchase the batteries and rings together from Polar. Return the coverings to their proper places and twist the coin until the covering is in the "closed" position.
A Polar monitor comes with a 2 year warranty that guarantees the device will be free of defects. If you purchased the monitor second hand, the warranty is not valid. This warranty also does not cover the battery. The challenge here is in regards to the older Polar models that have to be opened with a screwdriver. The warranty is voided when you open the back, but hopefully, you’re already past the 2 year warranty period by the time you need to change the battery. If not, follow Polar’s guidelines on where to send the watch for battery replacement.
